My life in Sydney- Eun Ju

I got up early and I prepared breakfast and I packed all the lunch boxes for my family.
I prettily made up my face.
Because today, there was a English Class at Randwick TAFE. So after dropping Chae Yeon at her school, I went to English Class
I moved on my step joyfully toward to the Randwick TAFE way
When I went in English class room I found a new lady was sitting on the chair. I was thinking she looked like a Korean.
In break time, we talked for a little bit. I was so glad because she is Chinese and her family situation is quite similar to our family.
She is living near to my house between the 2Unit. She has one daughter who is 8 years old same as my daughter and goes to same school. Funnily her husband is also a researcher in UNSW University
I am so excited that we would be becoming good friends.

When I got along with my Chinese friend and her family who was in a similar situation in Tasmania, so I was so happy and we could talk and understand our feelings easily.

What a wonderful my new life in Sydney.
I have lived for 5 months, I already have got many friends here.

Scar the Gargolye Beast

which is what Spike is trying to eat because it doesn't know what it is.

Centennial parklands

Our home is very near to Centennial Park. You can find more information in its web site. http://www.centennialparklands.com.au/

It is wonderful place for walking, jogging, and cycling. It has several beautiful ponds in there. Eun ju usually goes to there every day with Chae yeon. Chae yeon will write about the park later.

Walk-a-thon

Last week Chae Yeon had a walk-a-thon at her school. According to Wikipedia, a walkathon is defined as follows:

"A walkathon (walk-a-thon), walking marathon or sponsored walk is a type of community or school fundraiser in which participants raise money by collecting donations or pledges for walking a predetermined distance or course. "

Chae Yeon says how walk-a-thon was as follows:

"All of my class mates enjoyed it and I enjoyed it more than

any of my class mates because it was my first one but I particularly

liked it for the colour our class was.It was blue, my favourite colour!"

The 4 friends/BFF

Once upon a time there were 4 BFFs(Best Friends Forever).
Their names were DragonBolt,Fern,Angora and Pinxy.
All of them were royalty.
DragonBolt was the princess of Dryads,Dragons,Nymphs,Spirits and Woodfolk and just about every other creature in forests, volcanoes or the sky. In fact, she was a Dragon herself!
She was cute with green eyes and had golden, smooth scales.
Fern was the Royal of Suniville.
She was about 14 and was the youngest besides DragonBolt and had long brown hair,Emerald green eyes and slightly tan skin.
Angora was Mistress of light and ruled over Beamcloud and had pure white skin,blue eyes and a golden mane of hair. And last of all is Pinxy,ruler of Pixie World. She has fair orange hair, brown eyes and porlaician skin.
So the introdution stops here but the story hasn't started.

THE GAP!!!

One day we went to the Gap.

And we didn't use a map

We went for the view,

And found something new.

We saw the anchor of Dunbar

But it wasn't very far.

We looked at the sea,

And I saw something like a pea.

We went to the top,

But I wanted to stop.

In the sky I saw something like a dome.

Now we will go home!

Winners of ABC Children's Drawing Competition

Last year, I, Chae Yeon, won the first prize at ABC Children's Drawing Competition. The following is the official announcement for the winning.

As part of ABC's Weather Month to mark 150 years of weather forecasting in Tasmania, ABC ran a Children's Drawing Competition. Here are the colourful winners; all were featured on the weather forecast on ABC TV News.

Luna park!!!

It was all on a Saturday,

I think it was in warm May.

We all went to Luna park

I think it was top mark.

We rode there on a ferry.

It was so very merry.

AND IT WAS SO FUN!!

And this time I had more than just a bun.

We went on the dodgem cars

But the road was not made out of tar.

I went to Coney Island

And nearly scratched my hand.

I went on the Merry-Go-Round!

And didn't make a sound.

Then I heard a whooshing sound like a waterfall

AND THIS IS THE END FOR ALL!!!!

I love Sydney!!!!!!!

June 15/6/09. I think that Sydney is OK now but it wasn't before. Well, I was a bit scared when I first arrived because I thought we would have a bad night.There was a bed but I still was scared because there were hardly any books that could comfort me plus there were no places in Sydney that I knew except Paramatta,Darling Harbour, and CBD.Now I know lots of other places like Randwick, Eastgardens, Burwood, Bondi, Coogee and Watson's Bay.I didn't have ANY friends or mates but when I went to school I got nearly everybody as my friend.My best friends at my school [which is Randwick Public School] are Eleanor,Yosra and Madelaine and I also have a friend called Sami.I don't think I can manage any more so I finish right here. Bye-Bye reader!

Chinese Garden을 다녀왔습니다.

We went to the Chinese Garden in Darling Habour.
2주전에 시티에 있는 차이니즈 가든에 다녀왔습니다. 채연이가 노랑색 중국 전통 의상을 입과 포즈를 있습니다.시드니에는 볼 것이 많이 있습니다.

우리 가족이 시드니로 이사 했어요!!!

지난 2월 2일에 시드니 UNSW(University of New South Wales)에 Post-Doctor 과정을 시작하게 되어, 시드니로 이사를 하게 되었습니다. Tasmania로 들어 간지 6년 반정도가 흐른 후에, 드디어 호주의 중심 도시 중에 하나로 나온 것입니다.

시드니. 세계에서 가장 살기 좋은 도시 중에 하나라는 이곳. 저희 가족에게 첫 인상은 무척 좋지 않았습니다. 지난 2007년 12월에 골드코스트에서 AI 학회가 있어 다녀오는 길에 가족과 시드니에서 만나 2박 3일 여행을 하게 되었습니다. 우선은 시드니에 대한 잘 못된 정보를 가지고 있어서, 숙소를 시내에서 너무 먼 곳에 잡은 것이 첫 번째 실수 였습니다. 비가 그렇게 많이 내리리라고 예상을 하지 못했습니다. 차를 랜트하지도 못하고 대중 교통 수단을 이용하자니, 관광은 엉망이 되었고, 호바트에 비해 지저분해 보이는 도시 환경과 붐비는 지하철 한 마디로 이런 시드니에서 살지는 말자! 이런 마음이 딱 드는 것이었습니다. 그렇지만 하나님이 이곳으로 가라고 하시니 올 수 밖에요.

시드니에서 첫번째 해야 할 일은 저희 가족이 살 집을 구해야 하는 것이었습니다. 몇가지 대안이 있었습니다. 먼저는 한인이 많이 사는 스트라스 필드에 사는 방법, 그렇지만 너무 한국 사람들이 많다는 점에서 이 안은 제외하였습니다.
